It took me a long time to do this casting. I knew I wanted to do it, but I wanted to use someone else's hand. Mine was too thick to be interesting in my opinion. But nobody had time to spoil me. So I bit the bullet and made it myself. I wanted to cast a hand holding a very large candle mold. I could then cut off the "candle shape" part to make a candle holder out of it. I thought it would be interesting. But then I realized the bucket wasn't deep enough. In fact, it would have been difficult to do the whole hand if I hadn't made a fist. I have a cast of my mother's fist from the 1970's. I didn't see anything interesting about it on the shelf. I decided to use a stir stick as a pointer and make an imprint of my hand that way. While the wand went well past my fingertip when pouring, the wand barely went past my fingertip when pouring, allowing me to insert my hand as deeply as possible. I also tilted the cistern to keep it from overflowing. When I freed my hand from the mold I left the stick in place so it wouldn't be plaster. Later, when I broke the cast from the mold, I gently twisted the stick to loosen it from the plaster. I was able to remove it to get to the inside of my arm and remove the mold. Of course, the mold could only be used once, as the casting separation process required the mold to be broken into pieces. Right now I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to put foil or paint on my hand. Gold leaf with rose gold leaves for skin tone sounds beautiful. Just take a look. Video Transcript: This hand pour was easy to perform. The instructions were easy to follow. The package was perfectly prepared so I just had to follow the instructions. I didn't have to guess. My only complaint is that the bucket isn't deep enough to actually take a full cast of your arm. If you make a fist you can get a full casting. But as you can see, I didn't clench my fist; that was the best I could do.
