The color is not as bright and shiny as advertised. More bronze than gold, it even has a greenish-yellow tint on one side. It looks like they used brown feathers instead of white ones. It's basically just color on one side. So basically what I was thinking, although next time I'll probably just buy regular feathers and dye them myself. They feel like feathers, although I suspect they'll never be the same once they're tousled.

I bought these feathers to create a crow costume for my child. I am very happy with the quality of these pens. They come in a variety of sizes, but any size is just enough so you don't end up with a lot of mismatched feathers. I bought three packs for my purposes and of these there are only a few nibs which I was unable to use due to obvious imperfection. I found these springs flexible and strong. The color is solid black. For the price, this product is really great.

. I had previously ordered another brand and liked it, but it ran out before my project was complete. They aren't the best anymore so I went with this brand. They were not only more expensive but also much worse than my previous ones! All were very short, but the main problem was that they weren't colored very well and therefore didn't even remotely match my other feathers.
