Ideal for a pelican. I have used several locks on my Pelikan suitcases and most of them have broken due to rough handling at the airport. That's why we have a Pelikan case that stands up to rough handling. It lacks many features, like input notification and key lock until reclose, but it's solid for its size. in circulation but not broken or bent. The hinge is just big enough to snap and small enough to prevent the case from opening unless properly latched. Just a tip, if you want an "open" notification, add a zip tie parallel to your lock, TSA will cut the zip tie and you'll know if your bag has been opened.
