This carpet was installed in the hallway and kitchen of my apartment. This rug is a BIG invention. So far, a month later, there has been no smell, no discoloration, no damage to this carpet or floor. My dog urinates at least 10 times the next day and sometimes in the same spot, but within a minute the urine quickly soaks into the mat (wet spot < 30cm diameter). I spray some Lysol sanitizer on it so it's slightly damp for about 5 minutes and then the wet stain is completely gone and the carpet is completely dry and spotless with no odor in an hour! My dog also poops on it twice a day and it's easy to see and no problem picking it up and dissolving the stain. This rug is still in excellent condition after a month and still looks brand new. My guess is that this mat can last much longer than the 3 months recommended by the manufacturer. In my use it could last me at least a year or even longer. THIS IS A BIG INVESTMENT! What a lifesaver! Before you bought this rug, cleaning your hallway rug and kitchen tile was a tedious, messy job, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was disgusting to step on puddles of urine, floors throughout the house stank because there was liquid urine everywhere.
