Review on Wella Color Charm Gel Blonde Hair Color - Long-lasting & Vibrant Shade by Kate Anderson

Think it's ok!

Well I'm not a professional and to be honest I often had no idea what I was doing during this process. It all started when I used the Manic Panic 30 Volume Bleach Kit on my long hair with dyed blonde ends and naturally dark hair. I originally planned to bleach the ends and mids to color them with Wella Frost Ash and T18 toner, but after washing off the bleach my head was strawberry blonde with a brown stain on the back and the tips were lemon yellow. I was putting on frosty ash color and toner anyway, so I ended up with a strawberry blonde head and everything else was grey. And before you ask. Yes, I used Wella 20 vol developer for each toner and dye. I've dyed the ends of my hair and a few highlights on my head in the past using the same Manic Panic bleach and Wella Sand Blonde and it looked great. So I'm not sure why the bleach spread and covered my whole head this time. While getting rid of her gray hair, she dyed her gray hair Wella sandy blonde. Also at this time I ordered more bleach and this hair color in a panic after waiting almost two days after trying to get rid of gray hair with sandy blonde. Day One: With this color, I wasn't sure how much lift it would take to make it work, but I re-lightened my entire head, including those already bleached and colored (my hair wasn't happy and I knew it). I tried to lift as much as possible. I think this dye requires 10 levels of lightening(?). The photos in my review show my progress starting in the shower after bleaching my hair again. I had very light roots and a few strands, but most of my hair was lemon yellow to pale lemon yellow or lighter. I had wet hair in the photo after some other stages of bleaching and we all know hair looks darker when wet. washed it off hoping to get the yellow tinge out of the hair. And so it happened and I was happy. but then when it dried all I could see was still yellow in my hair. So I went to bed. Day two: I woke up and applied color to dry hair, then waited an hour and washed it off. I wanted my hair to look like the blonde this color was supposed to look like and I think I just need to apply more to achieve that. Or something was wrong in this process, so the first try didn't work. But now I need to give my hair a break. I think I'll be adding more of this dye in a few weeks. Until then, I'm using the anti-yellow shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner that the photo is attached to. If it is true that this color requires lemon yellow or pale lemon yellow (all parts of it) had that level of buoyancy. If my hair should be lighter, I also had very light (almost white) bleached hair. Everything was bleached. I left the bleach on for an absurdly long time. I couldn't tell (still can't) on what level of bleached hair this color performed better. As I continue to fiddle with my hair and this color I will be updating this review. I ride or die (color lmao) for Wella products but I'm not quite sure what a layman should do to make them reach their full potential. I understand the appeal of professional hair care, but I've done it, gotten nothing but dyed ends and it's cost me close to £400 each time. So now I'm doing this myself. At the end of the second day, I straightened my hair (which sure is bad enough, but it's okay!) after it had air dried. I also made sure to do some hair masks during my last shower after washing off the color. My hair has always been very dry and now it's really very dry (especially the ends) so I'll try to deal with that as well as the color. Does the tone reduce the yellow cast? Yes, but maybe not enough/over time? Or depending on how much you bleach it? I had hair with one of the lightest lift levels and I don't think it showed up on this one, but I could be wrong. Also the smell. It smells like death. But to my knowledge all Wella dyes, toners and developers will never win the Best Fragrance award. So yes, everything is fine. I'm sure if I get it in the advertised color I'll be happy. But of course all of this could be 100% user error but I did my best given the unseen results and circumstances. I'm just wondering why the bleach spread all over my head the first time. Like it's wild Anyway I think you should give it a try and see how it works. I don't regret using this because I don't think my hair looks that yellow now so I'm sure it couldn't make anything worse. (Lighting in photos (not that much natural light) is slightly yellowish) I will update this.
