I was looking for a down jacket that fits and looks good without a hood. I found that they were often mismeasured and had to be sent back, or the hood was very large, obtrusive and very annoying. Since I couldn't find a coat that worked well with a detachable hood, I tried this one out and was glad it worked well. While the hood isn't detachable, it's not as obtrusive and fits well enough not to be intrusive like many others. Love the zipper that works both top and bottom so you can easily unzip the bottom while in the car. So far I have found it to be quite warm at 20 degrees and I assume that it will run all winter. I ordered a very large one - 5ft 1in and 150lbs. It fits perfectly.
