Protects against rain but keeps perspiration at bay
Ideal for staying dry on short rides. But even in cold rain, people sweat on bikes, and that sweat can't properly evaporate from your head when your head is wrapped in plastic. After a hard, long ride in the rain, the inside of my helmet shell is often almost as wet as the outside. I have to admit that my head stays warmer even when cold rainwater isn't dripping on it. When it's cold, I prefer warm sweat to moisturize my hair, rather than cold rain that freezes me to death.
