I fitted this handle to my new trailer door so I could close it from the inside as it only came with a large latch system and we couldn't keep the door closed until we were inside the trailer . Although it was intimidating to crash into my new door, the installation went much better than I expected as I had never done anything like this before. I recommend making a template like I did beforehand so you're sure the placement is correct before you start cutting holes in your door, but I think if you're replacing a broken latch it should be easy to replace be. Keys get stuck in the locks a bit but once inserted they work great.
