The $30 ball head isn't something Thomas Heaton carries around on his adventures, but for the price it's a great set. I'm a hobbyist who goes out into nature twice a month and this was a pleasant surprise. Pros: - It's more durable than others I've used in a similar price range - locks fairly well Cons - Lack of instructions (it took me a while to figure out two locking knobs do the same thing) - A little unwanted slippage, but two The locking knobs help quite a bit here - The camera mounting screw is cumbersome Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. At first I thought the two locking knobs for the ball head were overkill, but once I started using both it really helped with the slipping and made it very effective.
