This is a fantastic mount for those who want their bike (or surfboard, kayak etc.) up high and out of the way. I bought this particular mount because I was starting to commute to work from my small apartment and I wanted my bike to be easily accessible without lugging a dirty, wet bike around the living room and onto the balcony. Installation was pretty easy if you mark your bolt center lines properly. I wanted to mount the bike as high on the wall as possible so it would be as far from the road as possible. Luckily the instructions detail how to measure the bike to get the correct/minimum clearance. This had the added effect of keeping the bike safely out of my 9 month old's reach even in the lowered position. The mount is fairly easy to use and the mechanisms feel solid and well made. Hanging a heavy object over your family's heads isn't usually a fun prospect. With this mount, construction and equipment I feel absolutely safe. Overall I'm happy with the mount. It's definitely a conversation starter and extremely functional.
