Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Kenda Kwick Trax Tire: Unparalleled Performance and Durability by Justin Frazier

Fast, puncture-proof, reflective training tire

I use my 26er MTB mainly for highway riding. Tried Michelin and Continental slicks. Wet driving, especially downhill, caused safety issues due to slicks, and bad roads (lots of debris) caused the Continental to have limited puncture resistance, the Michelin performed poorly. Tried the 1.75 wide version of Kendas first. High puncture resistance and good rolling properties. So I decided to try the best configuration at 1.25 paired with C2 Michelin Schrader tubing. 1.75 weight about 400 grams each. The combination of a 1.25 wide tire and C2 tubes results in 400 grams less rotating mass, i.e. one less rotating mass of a tire! A shorter contact travel results in less drag, and a lower mass results in better acceleration and climb. So far after 700 km the same puncture resistance with the plus points mentioned above. Very happy with the change, at 67 psi in the front and 68 in the rear (I'm 198 pounds). The best speed in all directions. I drive about 200km a week. Will be updated over time. Happy with the change.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring package
