Review on πŸ‘” Premium Van Heusen Solid Cotton Handkerchiefs: Classic Elegance for Every Occasion by Rudy Hilmy

Revainrating 1 out of 5

If possible I would give ZERO stars! avoid them; they are complete rubbish.

My husband and I have started using handkerchiefs to be a bit more environmentally friendly. In the allergy season, we can easily use up a box of disposable handkerchiefs very quickly. One fine day, when there were no napkins, my father gave him a handkerchief, he liked it, and we started using it. The bonus is that the fabric is easier on the nose than a piece of paper, no matter how soft it is. This review isn't about using tissues, it's about these specific ones. In a nutshell? You are terrible. The handkerchief should be soft enough and last a long time. We actually have a few things now that are antiques after being bitten by a handkerchief and I found some with incredible embroidery at an antique store. They're probably decades old. I also inherited my stepfather's handkerchief collection after his death. Good handkerchiefs last for years (what's the point if there aren't any?). They are still in rotation. I bought these new ones for my husband thinking I could monogramme them for him to use at work. These photos were taken ten minutes ago after the very first wash. They have never even been used - I opened the packaging and tossed them in the wash to get ready to embroider. They came out of the dryer completely mashed. They look like I washed them in a food processor. Ripped edges and seams throughout. they are garbage. I chose them because they are from a reputable company (I know the names don't mean much anymore and anyone can buy a license or make a fake) and because they claim to be 100% cotton. Aside from not being strong enough (I accidentally washed a REAL tissue paper and it came out more intact), they are incredibly thin and rough. I suppose if you sneeze into one of these your hand will get wet and slimy. Their poor quality cannot be overestimated. If you've ever thought about switching to a handkerchief, good for you - sustainability is great, but avoid it at all costs. Just ask your grandpa or papa if he has something to keep. Revane tried to give me a few clues for my review, like "absorbency", "crease-resistant", and "softness" - those are the only words I can use to say these lobes have none of these properties. Complete and utter garbage from every point of view. ETA: We use them from time to time and they're terrible. It's rougher than blowing your nose with a paper towel. I can't convince people to give up this horrible product and look for another tissue. And if you find any, let me know.

Pros
  • Cotton, cotton, combed cotton
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
