I have very fine light brown hair. My ideal conditioner is something that both 1) hydrates well, but 2) rinses out well and doesn't leave a residue (leading to oiliness). I use this mask as a conditioner and love it. I don't towel dry my hair after shampooing since I'm in the shower, but I squeeze out excess water and apply conditioner, then pull my hair into a high bun when washing/shaving before rinsing. I mix it 50/50 with my regular conditioner so it lasts longer. It probably stays on my hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing out, sometimes more, sometimes less. The hair is much softer and easier to comb. I didn't notice greasy hair at all when using it. Highly recommended!
