Edit: failed after 3 months Has lasted longer than most wired headphone cables, but 3 months are not enough. However, the main problem is that it is not compatible with the new PS4 controllers. I have a brand new purple controller and a new gold controller and neither recognizes the mic input but the headphone output works fine. The purple controller was purchased directly from Sony's website and the gold controller from Wal-Mart, both believed to be authentic. Mine is much older, the touchpad doesn't have a backlight, the controllers work great with that boom mic, I just wish it would work with the newer controllers too. The audio is good and the mic is clear, the audio cuts out or the volume drops when the plug is twisted into place, but that's rare.
