I have the original version and the newer version. Original simple 5* product. This new version is not good. The only improvement over version 1 and version 2 is the handle structure, which makes it easier to open and close the lid safely. The lid latch is terrible in v2. Replaced by that of v1. Then, after about a month of use, I noticed an awful smell when I opened the lid to drink. They have added silicone pads to the v2 which will keep moisture underneath which will eventually lead to odor if it is not completely dry before more water/liquid is added. It really needs to go back to the original design minus the texture of the handle and they will have a premium product that everyone will love and enjoy as long as there are wide mouth bottles. As it is, I cannot recommend it to anyone. Buy v1 if you find it.
