Ordered big. Mini Aussie male: measures 25" chest, 15" neck, 19" neck to base of tail, 21" neck to feet/floor. 32 pounds. The product was well packed. The fabric and print look great. The sweatshirt does NOT stretch. The length of the back was great. The lower end ended an inch from his cock, leaving just enough room for him to pee and poop freely. Good 1.5 cm free space in the stomach. DISAPPOINTING PART: His little head was tense. The legs barely go through the leg openings comfortably (they need to be sewn wider at the front of the chest to allow for a natural crotch and taper). Because the leg holes are NOT sewn on wider, the sweatshirt becomes EXTREMELY tight on the front of his chest, behind his front legs (will cause future chafing) and on his upper back, making him very uncomfortable. I was able to get the first leg but then the second was too stiff. Only the front and top of the bangs were too tight, but everything else on the body was fine. It can't be that he felt comfortable doing any activity. If the trouser leg was sewn wider, it would be perfect. Unfortunately I had to go back. If your dog is an inch or two smaller than my male dogs in height and chest, then Large will do. Maybe an XL size would fit his hands better, but I'm sure it would be too long and too wide for him to pee and poop on. Damn. For reference, he usually wears a Petco Reddy size XL. When physically comparing this L Plaid sweatshirt and his Petco Red XL sweatshirt, they were the SAME in width, shoulders and length. But on this Revain Plaid sweatshirt, the neck and legs weren't wide enough. There seems to be a lack of quality control, like someone who sews uses the same armhole patterns for all sizes. See comparison photos. This is just my experience based on my dogs measurements. Overall, the hoodie looks and feels great. It just didn't work for my dog. It would be helpful if product reviewers listed their dog's chest, length and neck measurements in reviews.
