(UPDATE) Broke 4 months after purchase - problem not solved

I bought this printer in March and it stopped coming on mid July. It worked perfectly and after 2 weeks it wouldn't even turn on. I contacted Canon technical support and they said I would have to ship the printer to a service center at my own expense. When I went to the Canon website to start the shipping process, the website was down for renovations. So I'm stuck waiting who knows how long. I will update this review as new developments come in. When the printer ran everything was fine. The print quality was okay, but not impressive. Replacing ink and paper cartridges was a hassle, and parts felt cheap and broke easily. If you want to buy multiple types of ink and paper, you have to be prepared to spend a lot of money. All in all I have mixed feelings about this printer but if I can get it working again I'll probably be happy with it. But if it can't be fixed I won't buy this printer again. TO UPDATE. After I sent the printer back, Canon was much more responsive. In fact, I received a replacement for my non-working printer today, but haven't had a chance to open the box and see if it's new or refurbished (I hate getting a refurbished printer when my new one stops working) and how it works works. . After the initial problems with the Canon service, I feel better. One more thing, a third party contacted me to ask how they could fix the situation, which impressed me. I almost don't mind when things go wrong, when people take responsibility and actively strive to make things right again. I will keep an eye on Hot Deals Electronics in case I can buy from them again.
