I recently received a new Dell Latitude 7290 work laptop and needed a docking station to connect my two HP ZR2740w DisplayPort monitors to it. I was also hoping that the dock would work with my personal 2015 Macbook Pro laptop. I bought a Dell D6000 docking station because they had one at work and they could connect both USB-C and USB-A. Unfortunately, it couldn't find one of my monitors no matter what I did - changed cables, updated drivers, etc. I thought this unit was broken, but when I replaced it I had the same problem. Luckily, I came across HP's version of the Universal Monitor. Doc. Both monitors run at 2k resolution and work on both computers - one via USB-C and the other with a USB-A add-on. After having so many problems with the old one, I'm relieved to have found one that works as it should, so far (less than a week) with no problems.
