This item is almost impossible to find in my local hardware stores. This is a much better alternative to using a threaded adapter to convert street lights into sockets for things like Christmas lights. I used this on my backyard patio to convert a sconce into hanging string lights from Costco. Makes the patio look 100x better and puts out much better light than a single 100 watt bulb. Please note that two types of switch boxes are used for outdoor lighting. If the panel is too big, you can simply drill out the panel to accommodate a smaller lightbox. I had to do it myself. The socket is still in a small box.
