I bought this for my father who has COPD. The spring and fall seasons are generally terrible for him. This year was the worst. In any case, we did our best to improve the air quality in his bedroom, so we removed the carpet and repainted the floor, in addition to this air purifier, which I affectionately call "Divine". It only took my son 10 minutes to do this. Get up and walk around my father's room. We watched the light change color from red to yellow to green (okay, we had to leave before it turned green, but when it changed from red to yellow we realized it was doing something magical). My father works non-stop. Speaking of silence, the only way to know it's on is if you look at the display and see that the air quality light is on, so it should be on. Between this and a humidifier that emits vetch vapors, we haven't had to do an ER with it since installing it. Thanks to the people who created "Godsent". I might buy one as we all need clean air in our lives.
