The belt was sealed with a label in transparent plastic. The belt looks solid and strong. You get what you pay for. Make sure you order the next size down from your current belt size. Also, I slightly bent the tabs on each stud on the back of the belt to act as a clip to further secure each stud from falling off. The belt is genuine leather and should look even better after a good break-in period.
