This helped strengthen our channel bumper to accommodate 3-4 bikes with bike rack mounts. I really didn't want to attach anything to our bumper after reading stories of road problems and knowing these bumpers weren't designed to carry a lot of weight. After installing those bumper mounts and checking the provided weight calculations, it held up well after a few long rides. Be sure to weigh the attachment and carefully follow the instructions provided. Remember that the farther your bumper mounts hang, the more rotational force you will apply to the bumper. I've used this to support a rear bumper with a 2" bike rack receiver. I've also added steel reinforcement to the bumper around the receiver. So far after 6+ months and several 4 hour rides I'm not seeing any issues or bumper warping.
