The smell is most likely due to the oils present in the leather or if it contains neoprene you can get rid of the smell as follows.1. Take Dawn dishwashing liquid, wipe it off with a cloth and rinse thoroughly.2. Hang to dry outdoors on a table or clothesline for 24-48 hours.3. Take it in and wipe it with a Clorox cloth and dry it with a soft cloth so as not to hurt the skin.4. Dress up and have fun! Fair warning! Some people may be allergic to the oils/materials used in this product! Be sure to follow the cleaning instructions to avoid an outbreak!
