If you know about PC games, you might know SweetFX, ENB, ReShade, etc. I used to play on one of his friends' computers , which was more powerful than mine, and it showed SweetFX filters to make games more popular. Yes, it scales and uses that extra space to add effects without sacrificing clarity; kinda yeah, AA happens; the strengthening of the line is also noticeable; speculatively I think I'm seeing anti-dithering. I used this for my Xbox 360 because I'm a PC gamer and my recent purchase of an RGH system was a disappointment in the graphics department. For many games I have a copy from Steam as well as the 360 version. Just looking at it on 360 makes games like Crysis, Tomb Raider, Half Life look a lot worse. I could do a direct comparison and thought the console resolution was a real disadvantage, even more so than the texture size. I'm playing PC games at 1080p with in-game settings maxed out and 8x FXAA applied via game settings via the NVIDIA Control Panel. With this mCable the texture resolution is a more important factor, it's the fault of the cable that I can now see textures better with a better screen resolution. When I saw this product and the reviews I thought this was just what I needed to bring the 360 closer to what I'm used to. I would like to point out that the bumps in Gears of War were so bad that I used to think this game was unplayable, but now it's not that bad. This is a slight improvement, and some games seem to benefit more from the methods used than others. It would be really nice if I could edit the effects used or even enable FXAA. This does not result in any of the image blurring that you might get from too much anti-aliasing (note that I personally prefer excessive anti-aliasing). I'm not a competitive gamer so I would tolerate some lag if it was present, I would even accept a frame or two of lag if he uses it for TAA like effects. In any case, this is a moot point as there are no lags. What really struck me while playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and FarCry 3 is that there's a special effect that changes the mood at least a bit. Especially with these two games, the PC version still has significantly better textures than the 360 version at a very low level, and the scaling effects make the end result more cartoonish. The saddest thing for me right now though is that my TV is dead and I'm using a cheap stunt double. The TV I am currently using, albeit in 1080p, is of the Vizio brand. I actually get the best picture on this TV without mCable and with the console set to 720p.
