Review on πŸ’§ Enhance Plumbing Aesthetics with Keeney K857-30 PEX Stub-Out Support and Cover, Chrome by Nate Mims

But looks great. It's 100% PLASTIC

Is it chrome? is it metal Surprise! This is exactly the cosmetic I was looking for, but after carefully reading all the descriptions, it is not written anywhere that it is plastic. I assume the engineering is great and the plastic can look just like polished chrome, but I've also seen a few, many with the chrome on the plastic badly chipped and looking ugly much sooner than at least part of the lifespan of installing hardware. I don't want to rebuild the compression check valve because the thing has lost its luster. Forget to polish it, it needs to be replaced. Cutting to length doesn't work here either: cutting is very easy, but it starts to peel the chrome off the plastic much sooner. In this case I can't tell what is not as described but definitely not what was expected. I feel like I got a Bait-N-Switch. I think there has to be some kind of incentive or demand and forcing the sellers to be honest and get Revain to list the base material for all plumbing for ALL listings, not just watch. I believe I have a right to avoid plastic, but that's getting harder and harder as more manufacturers choose to make it cheap in a race to the bottom and then confuse the buyer and hope the hassle of returning it takes away an obstacle will return because most will keep it even if they are unhappy. Price: This would be a great bargain if it were metal, it's grossly overpriced for plastic. This should be pop music. But I think that with the cost of remodeling the plumbing, that will get lost in the noise of other big expenses. Another note: This cover is relatively large, the screw holes are set so wide that the standard cover does not cover the screw holes, if you later decide to shorten the tube and use a standard metal cover, problems may arise. I think it's possible to drill another set of holes closer to the center or just glue it on without screws. Very disappointed with this purchase. But when new - I must admit that it looks good. (Contractor class?), hence more than one star.
