Beautiful and durable - see pom pom tips

Gorgeous color! I bought this paper to make large pom pom decorations which are very popular for weddings, children's parties etc. I did my first a few days ago. The paper was slightly torn in a few places, but I think it was actually operator error. Even if I tore it a bit at the bottom, the paper held up and the pom pom came out great. I am very happy with my purchase. The size (20" x 30") is listed in Martha Stewart's "Do It Yourself" instructions for pom poms. Your instructions say to use eight sheets to make a pom pom, up to 14 inches I think. I have found that you can make two 10 inch pom poms from 7 leaves, 8 inch and 12 inch from 8 leaves or 13 inch. 14 inch looks better with 9 or 10 blades. I've also found that rounding the ends is much easier if you cut the paper so you can round 1/3 or 1/2 of the sheet at a time. When fluffing, you should alternate side-to-side and top-to-bottom movements to make them as even as possible. Also, you should definitely attach monofilament string (for hanging) before fluffing, but you can wrap it and attach it to a small piece of cardboard to keep it from getting tangled. That way you can hold it while you make that final swing. After you've fluffed up the pompom, it's a good idea to let it hang if possible. Otherwise, it will eventually flatten out in areas.
