My baby has very thin hair that is only now long enough to tangle, and rats nest on his back. We had the bamboo brush that came with the set but the little balls on the end are too big and the brushes are too far apart to do much. This travel size is just right for her head and works perfectly. He combs tangles wet or dry. Works best when wet and we also have a detangling spray or water that we use to help. She loves it and while she still says her hair hurts, it definitely doesn't pull as much. I know this brush will last and last for years.
