EDIT: This scoop was great for any unrefrigerated dough. However, it broke on my first cold test. The shovel has jumped out of alignment and is now hanging outside the shovel. Very upset about this.———————— It was my first year making Christmas cookies. My mom used to do this but she passed away earlier this year leaving a void in my heart and on the holiday table. I took a cookie burner and bought this spoon to make things a little easier (Mom always used a teaspoon). This shovel did not disappoint. It makes perfect sized cookies and I only had an issue with one type of cookie that you have to hand roll anyway. In this case, I just packed the shovel and then just pulled out the dough by hand. It was the scoop that cut into this dough, but the problem was the consistency of the dough, not the scoop. It is very easy to clean and the spin mechanism is smooth and quiet. As a bonus there is a free cookie cookbook of my choice. An e-book that you can download when you receive your portion. The price is an absolute bargain for the quality. Highly recommended.
