Review on πŸ”Œ Leviton 40839-SWS QuickPort Snap-In Module: 3.5mm Female Stereo Jack to Screw Terminal – White | Find the Perfect Audio Solution by Carrie Green

Great idea, imperfect execution

I bought a pair of these to take sound from the living room to the amp room for my distributed audio system in the house. Like the Cables to Go version of the C2G/Cables to Go 37036 3.5mm 3 Wire Keystone Adapter, it's a good concept but not very well built. As I screwed in the wires I was concerned that the minimal torque I applied to the Phoenix connector might break the solder joints on the board. (Although it looks like a Phoenix-Uxcell connector, 20-pack, 5.08mm, 3-pin PCB mount screw terminal block for 14-22 AWG wire used in professional audio, it's not!). I find the Leviton version with screw terminals to be more reliable than the Cables to Go version with a locking connector. Another thing to note is that Leviton uses a slightly different size of keystone plate than other manufacturers. So this bushing went VERY tight into my trapezoidal sheets that I bought at a local big store. If you are using a keystone jack, make sure it has the Leviton nameplate.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
