time will tell if it will collapse like my last pillow. On the first night I'm surprised at how firm it is, although it seemed soft at first. But it wasn't that hard to cause an earache. I haven't installed any other bars yet, but I will in time if it loses some support. The inner pillowcase has two zippers for easy insertion of the blue and gray support bars. Don't do what I did - I took it off to see how the pillow worked. It was a struggle to get it right again. Let's hope this pillow lasts. I woke up a couple of times at night from the smell but didn't feel any ill effects from it. So far, so good.
