Yes this stool had assembly issues as described by other reviewers. However, I decided to buy one to try as the design and price were so attractive. As soon as I opened the box I was amazed by the evenness and polish of the finish. The tree looked strong. (I considered buying them to replace the long benches at our gym.) Since the reviews warned me about the possibility of mismatched parts, I was ready to grapple with it. In fact, one of the pens was ripped out of his hand. It took a little effort to force this leg 1/8 inch and within five minutes all the legs were in place. Inserting the screws was easy. I then put the chair to a practical test. I first used a stool in our dressing room and found the seat more comfortable than a flat bench. (Please note that the curvature of the seat is not as great as in the Revain picture). The stool was very stable when placed on a low-pile carpet. Then I put one of our biggest members on it; He's well over 6 feet tall and weighs north of 250 pounds I'd guess. There are no problems with bending and stability. Now I will order the rest of our needs.
