Poor Visualization for fundoscopic Exam

In short, it nearly impossible to visualize the cornea on darker iris people. Never had a similar problem on welch allyn ones, but this hazes up the entire front of the eye with a glare from led light. It does not have the same polarizing filter as a welch allyn as well. The company has also not responded to my email on this.Everything else is a decent quality, but if you were hoping to get a better fundoscopic exam by paying a hundred or more dollars compared to other sets, you're going to be…

Pros
  • Great quality for the price, perfect for med students.
Cons
  • The LED lamp may not provide enough illumination in certain situations, leading to inaccurate diagnoses

Don’t buy this item.

Here’s what you copy and paste honey for the review!Initial visual impression: it looked like a toy.It was difficult to adjust the aperture control. It felt stiff and cumbersome to manipulate. Light was too bright.

Pros
  • Good product and quick shipping time
Cons
  • This is a poorly made product. Cheap plastic material.

High price best in my review

The price is very high and does not bring a replacement bulb, so it makes it disposable. It is not worth paying so much for something disposable

Pros
  • A good replacement for my old medical school otoscope/ophthalmoscope, which was no longer functional.
Cons
  • I’m disappointed with the quality of the plastic. The small size is practical when mobile.

Light does not shut off

Bought this for a seldom used room in our office and with very little use the light has ceased turning off. Have to remove the batteries now each time after use. Really liked it when we bought it, although won't even use now as not worth the effort. Should have gone with a more reliable brand to start with!

Pros
  • Used for assessments. Fast delivery
Cons
  • It came oxidized.

not a substitue for the professional

I am a retired PA, I got this after my old oto ophthamascope died. The viewing glass is fixed, and plastic on the otoscope. The ophthalmascope does not appear to line up easily or with the clarity of a professional unit. Can barely get a red reflex. As I was retired, i did not want to spend price for a professional unit. I would not buy this again

Pros
  • Good set. I can keep it in my coat pocket
Cons
  • The compact size may make it difficult for those with larger hands to handle

Don’t bother buying

I bought this for work. I’m 2 months past when I can return and the otoscope light will not turn off via the switch. I’m sure the battery will soon die and I’ll replace and see if I can get the switch off. In the mean time I’ve ordered a different brand.

Pros
  • Excellent product , easy to use
Cons
  • The price point of this product may be too high for budget-conscious medical professionals

Light immediately malfunctioned on the ophthalmoscope

The first time I turned on the light on the ophthalmoscope, it wouldn't turn off. I had to take out the batteries in order to preserve the light. Alas, one time I didn't take out the batteries and the light burned out. I'm very sorry I paid so much money for this. Expected it to last for years.

Pros
  • Expected a bit ruggedness but good value for the money.
Cons
  • Do not buy these if you actually want to see anything in the eye.
