Bought this blender 2 years ago, mainly for making smoothies and the occasional milkshake. It was used on average once a day for less than five minutes. It matched my ideas perfectly and had a design that made the mixing process much easier without requiring constant stops to feed unmixed material to the blades. After about a year it started leaking and I found that the plastic "nut" that attaches the blades to the glass jar was cracked. Tried to fix with different glues but nothing helped. Thinking I was just unlucky with the first one, I bought a second of the same model. It worked just as well as the first one, until the same problem occurred. Now I'm a little frustrated, so I've filed warranty claims with HB for both. They accepted the claims and agreed to ship the replacement parts, but at a rate of $6 an hour each. I responded by asking if they guaranteed free replacement parts if they failed (since I generally suspected a manufacturing issue with that part) and received no response which I take as a "no". Too bad now I'm using Oster, that should be pretty bulletproof. It's ok, but I liked the HB better, except for the leaking part.
