Some sound files crackle when playing

The price has come down a lot since I bought these. In any case, I need wired headphones for several reasons, the main one being that I use my smartphone and tablet to learn foreign languages with applications like Rosetta Stone or flashcards with sound files, etc. When I'm using Bluetooth headphones Since the sound keeps starting and stopping instead of just turning on like when watching a movie or listening to music, the Bluetooth connection can be a little annoying as it seems to be in some sort of sleep mode. Often the first part of audio files is cut off. I was very surprised to find that the same thing happens with these headphones as with Bluetooth. I think it's the software. I didn't use the headphones much before updating to the latest firmware, but I definitely noticed after the firmware update. I can't go back and forth to really test this. A notification from tech support prompted them to replace the headset fairly quickly with no issues, but all replacement headsets have the same issue. Your technicians clearly cannot reproduce this issue. I can hardly believe it. I suspect they just don't know how to fix it. This is a big problem, which is why I'm writing this review and focusing on it. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the headphones. I like the sound very much. The noise-cancellation is noticeably useful, although not as good as the Bose. They're pretty comfortable. I wore them to work today and listened to music all day with no problems. The software in the application has an audio equalizer. If you once had a stereo with sound EQ but spent years listening to all your music on your smartphone or iPod, you might have forgotten how cool that is. It has some nice presets like Bass Boost and Voice Boost. I like both settings. I've found that I can understand podcasts, music, TV shows, etc. in a foreign language better with the Speech Enhancement setting. That's great. I don't understand why your tech team denies this popping at the beginning of some sound clips. I notice this mostly with voice clips. Rosetta Stone is really disappointing to use with this one.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I don't remember
