Ideal for changing colors between dry and powder eyeshadow. I find this better for shorter brushes as it's easier to force and guide the bristles into the sponge, although the pot size works with larger blush brushes too. The sponge itself is very similar to the silicone sponges I used to use in the kitchen, it holds its shape well and is easy to clean. I wouldn't use this at all in place of soap and water washing as it doesn't prevent bacterial growth at all. It also doesn't work with cream eyeshadow and probably not glitter (good for shimmer but haven't tried glitter and can't imagine how good it would be). wipe all brushes with a paper towel or something) and it makes my day so much easier.
