I bought this for my living room to store throws and small pillows. It's a good size for it and is surprisingly durable considering it was folded flat. As stated in the description, the fabric base doesn't hold much weight so don't lift it if you have something heavy in it, but once the lid is in place the unit holds a lot of weight. My 296-pound son sat on it to test it out. Holds up with no problems. Like I said, it's being used for storage and the only creatures that will be sitting on it regularly are a pair of 20-pound cats. The small tray is currently used for napkins and various remote controls that we need but don't use on a daily basis. I just wish it was available in more colors.
