Review on 💦 Oxysept Disinfecting Solution: Neutralizer Ultracare Formula, 12 oz. - Effective Germ-killing Solution by Jessica Lewis

I hate change and was devastated when Alcon hired AOSept. My contact lens treatment for decades has consisted of AOSept, Miraflow (or Lobob or Walgreens brands), SupraClens and Wegman's saline solution. When AOSept was discontinued I bought it on ebay even with expired dates. Now I can't even get it there, so I was forced to look for new products. After reading a few reviews I settled on Oxysept and Ultrazyme. It's a similar process to AOSept and SupraClens - a sanitizing solution along with a protein cleaner. However, the Oxysept basket differs from the AOSept. The neutralization is done with a tablet that you add to Oxysept, while with AOSept you used a basket with a built-in neutralization disk. I have to say that my contacts feel better now that I switched! As far as I can tell, this is because the tablet neutralizes the sanitizing solution more slowly than the disc, so the cleaning action lasts much longer. It is true that AOSept quickly bubbled up and poured out of the basket. Oxysept also has a kind of comfort component, a kind of lubricant. It usually just blurs my vision, but it really works with this product. I can easily wear contact lenses for hours. I have dry eyes, that says a lot. The process is pretty finicky and some people won't want to mess with it. After each wear, wipe the Lobob contacts and flush with saline. Then fill the Oxysept basket with the solution and dip the neutralization tablet into it. What I don't like about this system are those damn blister packs. Both the neutralizing tablets and the once-a-week protein tablet must be removed from the blister pack. I also enjoyed using the protein remover every day - I put two drops of SupraClens in the AOSept basket each time. Ultrazyme is a once-a-week tablet. I think I will use it more often to prevent protein build up, but if I do it will be more expensive than the daily SupraClens drops. (Does anyone know if SupraClens can be used with Oxysept?) However, I prefer to store contact lenses for several years, so I need to clean them as rigorously as possible. Multipurpose and non-rubbing solutions just don't work for my purposes.
