I use it with Okocat cat litter. I don't just use it for soft fillers, as soft fillers require a smaller spoon. However, traditional litter requires this type of scoop because if you use a traditional scoop, you will likely have trouble sifting the litter. Yes, this thing is big. However, I've found that it helps me sort through the junk faster and more efficiently. With all that junk, you're going to end up with those little bits of urine or feces to chase after. I have found that you can use the end and corners of a spatula to lift and remove these small pieces. I would like to point out that I use their soft and regular mix together because I have found that the soft litter spreads all over the place and the large litter doesn't cover the poop properly. By using the two together, I'm not spending more money than I normally would and get odor control with decent coverage, unless it's bathroom trash on the floor. This scooper still does great when using a combination of both throws.
