Review on πŸ”§ Sfu1605 Stepper Actuator with Travel Ballscrew by Tropingzz Cece

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The ballscrews are a little rough, but not bad for the price.

I used mine to build a displacement dyno. Motor and ball screw allow readings every 0.025mm in full increments. The ballscrew is a bit rough in places (nicks and nicks) but not enough to cause binding. The trolley's rollers needed to be adjusted and aligned for a smooth ride. Note that the included Nema17 motor has an 8mm round output shaft, not a 5mm D-shaft as shown in the picture. Also, this is a low resistance motor (1.7 amps) and a small controller like the L298N, even if it's rated at 2 amps, the board will overheat in a matter of seconds. I switched to a 4.5 amp TB6600 and it works great.

Pros
  • screw strips for movable construction elements.
Cons
  • So far so good
