A great webcam is hampered by some weird software options

As for the pan/tilt/zoom webcam, let's start by saying that you can't get better value for money -Ratio can get quality than this. at the time of writing (July 2021). I bought this to replace the Logitech C922 ProStream which seemed to have had major issues with its auto white balance and other color capabilities. The Obsbot camera works, and it works well enough. The three tracking modes - Normal/Movement/Level - all do what they're supposed to do and it becomes sort of a plug-and-forget device. Criticism: - Unless you use the desktop app specifically for the "Sleep" camera, it seems to be on all the time. The status light on the front indicates this. Warning: if you tilt the camera down, rotate it It clips towards base, so even though it's not actually "off" (the status light is still amber), it clips video.- Firmware update requires native app to work but AGE to complete. The app shows 10-15 minutes for completion but when it was complete it was 1hr 50mins This is unacceptable - gesture control is definitely a gimmick - it works about 50% of the time and seems to prefer the right hand Pros: + MUCH better video than my Logitech C922 ProStream Difference between day and night under the same shooting conditions Obsbot's default settings seem to give a much more natural skin tone With Logitech i had to It's always been manual handling of white balance, brightness and contrast, and it just couldn't handle artificial light sources, even studio lighting. + The scaling function is well implemented and appears to be lossless. Digital zoom, which means the sensor has a higher resolution than advertised (because there is no mechanical movement in the lens when zooming). The choice of software definitely has an "alpha" feel to them, like they're not quite ready for mainstream use just yet. most notably the need to keep opening the desktop app just to properly sleep with the camera.
