I bought this camera a few weeks ago after my six year old Pentax Optio 30 was accidentally damaged. I've put off writing a product review until I've explored all of the features and become familiar with the menu navigation. I can say with confidence that this camera is a great solution at a reasonable price point. Pros: - Good image quality under most conditions in Auto mode. - Great shots in all conditions as long as you take advantage of the many features this camera has to offer. - Uses AA batteries. Quality materials and assembly. Useful features everyone should have: Auto, Scene and Program modes Program mode offers adjustable ISO sensitivity (80-1600), white balance, color saturation, sepia tone or black and white, exposure metering, single shot or burst - decent video with fairly high resolution - more normal Focus range, plus infinity and macro - Exposure control +/- 2 stops - Playback mode with camera off and lens retracted is better than average, flash includes slow sync mode and has adjustable flash exposure. have been using them for many years. Each charge is enough for 3-4 disposable pairs! And in a pinch, where CAN'T you buy standard AAs?) - Could benefit from better ergonomics. (Why do manufacturers put so little emphasis on picking up small electronics? Of course, if they made things too easy to grasp, we'd rarely throw them away, and they'd sell fewer replacements.) In any case, ignore the negative reviews written by the impatient and uninformed. This is a great, feature-rich compact camera that's easy to recommend for under $100.
