Can you believe I read the guide on how to install this thing while maintaining the correct proportion of the mechanism to the long section of the tank? There was a 2 x 1/4" adapter socket in the tank, so I removed that socket because I thought that if I left the socket in the tank the gauge height adjustment would interfere with the lever at full range. Install the gauge with the plastic cover removed and correctly align the gauge arm with the long length of the tank so that the arm does not hit the tank wall and catch.There is a gasket between the lever assembly and the bushing and another gasket between the lever assembly and the plastic cover. I installed the cover and everything worked.JJK
