Review on DMC 6127 3 Marbleized Scissor 4 Inch by Amanda Castillo

Comparison to other embroidery scissors

I bought embroidery scissors for $27 which I really liked, but then I got curious what you could get for a third of that price. So, without moderation, I bought 4 more cheaper scissors to compare. I bought some cute scissors as that is a requirement along with the scissors feature. That's what I found when trying out these "DMC marbleized scissors". This is a pair of sharp scissors at a reasonable price. They are sharp enough to easily cut through 1 layer of felt and 2 layers with little effort. The tip is suitable for difficult cutting, it is sharp to the point of the scissors and cuts the threads cleanly and evenly. The cutting edge of the scissor blades don't look like they will keep their sharpness but time will tell - for now they are new and very sharp. The scissors are 3 1/2 inches long, which I find a bit small for embroidery scissors. The scissors feel comfortable, but are quite small and light. The finger holes are big enough to fit my fingers (I wear a size 7 glove, which is oversized for a woman). The image on Revain implies that the scissors are purple, but that's not the case, they have a marbled look with lots of red and other colors. RESULT: I will keep and use these scissors. Due to their small size, they fit nicely in a small craft or sewing book that I will make for them. They won't be my first choice for all my embroidery/felting/cross stitch work just because of their light weight and small size, but they may work well when I travel by plane.

These are very pretty scissors. They just aren’t sharp enough for me.
