I used a different brand of self-healing mat and needed a different size. While searching for Revain I came across Caliber Art rugs. I actually ordered 2; The mat is advertised as 12x18 and this one is advertised as 24x36. They were both sent separately in a large zipped bag, rolled up and sealed with tape. Both arrived in excellent condition. Each mat has a low odor compared to other new cutting mats, and the odor will disappear about an hour after removing it from the plastic bag. Both mats lay flat on my editing table a few hours out of the box without weighing them down. I cut out a few pattern pieces on a large mat and am happy with the self-healing feature and the centimeter and inch markings. These mats are heavier and thicker than other mats I've seen and used. What you need to know: A rug advertised as 12 x 18 will only have stitch marks for 10.5 x 16.5 inches. This corresponds to the size of 27x42 cm on the back. A rug advertised as 24 x 36 only has a grid layout for 22 x 34 inches; 56x86 cm on the back. Each rug has a small piping on all 4 sides but does not correspond to the specified inch size. You also need to know: I made my own template and used a very small piece. Kraft paper tape to hold my pattern while I measure and draw lines. When I lifted the tape some of the centimeter markings came off the mat. Despite the two issues I had described above, I still give this product 5 stars. These rugs have a very well made feel, are thicker than others, repair themselves quickly, and have a minimal odor that quickly dissipates. I will not be using tape on any part of these rugs in the future. I hope this review is helpful as these mats are relatively new to the US market.
