These brushes came in a red presentation box and each brush was packed in a plastic case and the large brushes had a mesh inside the case to protect the bristles. I washed every brush and literally not a single bristle came off in my hands or in the sink. I have a very sensitive sense of smell and before brushing I noticed a very slight but not unpleasant or toxic odor from the bristles. However, after careful and thorough washing with soap and water, the odor disappeared. I put the mesh sleeves back on the stubble after washing to keep the shape. They dry beautifully - great shape and very soft! There is a large selection of brushes. The price is also the most affordable for the variety and number of brushes! The Kabuki brush is smaller, but I actually see that as an advantage - less powder is used / less thick layer when applying. I'm a beginner so I'm very happy that these brushes have an instruction manual that shows each brush and what it's used for. There is no number on the brush so you will need to match it by looking at the image but I plan to spend some time learning about brushes and watching videos online on how to use them. I read many reviews of these brushes and compared them to many other competitors. I chose them because they had the most reviews from professional makeup artists and the most positive reviews. I am very happy with my purchase!
