- EDIT: Since purchase, the base cushion itself has become flat and uncomfortable again. As a chair for everyday use and for the price I am very disappointed with how long this chair cushion lasted before failing. The chair I had before lasted a year and a half before becoming uncomfortable and costing $400 less. I removed the stars and don't recommend AKRacing for it now. My very first "gamer chair" was a first generation AK racing chair and I still have roller skates from that chair. They come back to their chairs after a long time and are relatively happy that their level of comfort is still the same as in their first chair. Nearly. Pros: + I'm 6ft, 200lbs and this chair fits me great and the seat is comfortable. + The headrest and lumbar cushions are comfortable and easy to adjust. + The tilt feature is great and helps me adjust my posture based on how long I'm sitting. + There are no feathers in the cold-pressed foam, which is a big plus. + The wheels move great on carpet but also on my makeshift chair cushion. Cons: - The armrests aren't great. I shifted some of my weight to the right to steady myself while correcting my posture, and the front screw that attaches the top of the armrest to the swivel mount ripped through the plastic. After checking this you will find that there is no locking nut or way to remove and replace the screw or lock it tight. I think that's a very bad design decision. These bolts should be replaced with bolts with locknuts on the bottom, with something to take the load. The armrests also don't have the vertical range of motion to match my desk and the keyboard tray I have for it. I either need to lower the armrests all the way and then fold the keyboard tray right over the armrests, or find some 2" pieces of wood to raise my entire desk enough to allow/comfortable use of the armrests, which is a anyway a bit of a no-brainer. The UPPER HALF of the chair is very stiff material where my back/shoulders rest. Therefore, without a neck pillow, it is uncomfortable to lean on the entire chair if for some reason the pillow starts to bother you. Softer padding would help here, especially in the shoulder area, and shouldn't be too much. A 0.25 inch layer makes a big difference. This chair will not "breathe" if you have a very hot room/office. Maybe this can be fixed by adding some ventilation holes in the back of the chair and on the sides. the bottom of the chair to allow for ventilation in future designs. 4/5 overall for the experience of using this chair for a few weeks. The armrest issue is EXTREMELY disappointing given the price of this chair, I was expecting that the design is much better quality of the armrests. I expected to see what would happen with a chair that costs about $400 less. Armrest (because everything is unscrewed) I originally got a response within 1 day of my first inquiry but it has now been SEVEN days and no response, no information on replacing the armrest. I'm willing to accept this if there is a COVID-19 issue for them, but until I hear from others this is just a terrible way of handling customer requests. At the moment I would not recommend this product.
