They work great with one exception: the side panels are too weak and flex when stacked on top. The big size is bigger than the small ones. There aren't any better options as I wanted something that was more accessible and looked better than clear plastic containers. The broken ones are for plates - I throw away the felt inserts and use them for hats/scarves, for example. Square boxes tend to support the weight better than rectangular ones.
