I purchased this exact product from a high end commercial mattress retailer and paid $100. This product is the same for a quarter of the price. The thinness lets you feel the comfort of your memory foam, reducing allergens while protecting your mattress. My son has had a few accidents over the years and has not walked on the mattress. I have had my original cap for 8 years now and wash it regularly with no damage to the product (NOT cracks or chips). It's time for a second one as a backup, so I ordered this one. Again, this is the same thing that made me happy. I put it in the dryer on low heat but it takes a while to dry so I let the residue air dry over a chair. I have red sheets so they are no longer "white" (which I don't care). I don't get hot from this mattress topper because. The terry is breathable and the lining is a water-repellent layer. I would highly recommend this product to everyone in the family. If you are potty training your child, I recommend using a potty pad as extra reassurance as it will reduce washing time after an accident. I say this as a single parent, keep it simple.
