SERIOUSLY ANGRY - contact manufacturer

I had a Pet-Safe Brand XL pet door that went from the pool cage to the backyard for years and when the door finally started to wear out with use it was time to replace it. I'll go with an "unbranded" "likely to match" alternative - I bought a BRAND NAME XL replacement valve. When it arrived I took a quick look to find it was the same and it turned out to be spot on right down to the branding logo on the valve itself. I just removed an old torn valve and discovered that REPLACING THE BRAND NAME DOESN'T WORK! the top of the pet door frame. The problem is that when I removed the old valve from the frame there were no holes at the top. There are about half a dozen rectangular "tabs" that protrude from the valve and slide neatly into a channel at the top of the frame to hold it securely in place. Not only that, but when I actually pulled the old valve out. and put a new one on, I found it was only "about" the same size. Its width is 1/4 to 3/8 inch. Even if I COULD install it, it would leave a long vertical hole for the bugs to easily pass through. I'm not sure why they decided to change the flap attachment method or why they decided the "XL" size of the pet door needed to be downsized, but I checked the box. Pet Safe needs to get it right.
