Perfect replacement for the Aprilaire 550 humidifier. 30% cheaper than comparable Revain models. Removing and replacing the old one took no more than 15 minutes. However, we recommend that you do a full troubleshooting before you buy: turn off the water at the thermostat and disconnect the supply line from the valve. Place the line in a cup or bucket and open the valve again. If you have water flow, good! Then remove the valve that connects the line to the humidifier and check that it is not clogged. If you can blow through it, good! Finally, remove the nuts from the 2 wires connecting the power supply to the valve (you may need to strip the wire if it doesn't have nuts). Be sure to turn off the humidifier before exposing the cords. Once you have access to the wires and make sure they aren't touching any bare metal, turn the humidifier back on. Put a multimeter on the line and make sure you get 24 volts. If you can find 24 volts, good! You have now identified the problem with the valve. Command!
